A MBI 110 for BRUNS, a company located in Lüneburg, Germany
The company Bruns from Lüneburg has decided to broaden their business ventures by entering the rental market for Under-Bridge Access Units in Germany by becoming the owner of a MOOG unit model MBI 110. Mr. Wilhelm Bruns, the President of Bruns, is sure that this addition will become a major advancement for their company who has a long-standing business history of nearly 90 years. They already have a good reputation for renting cranes and units for special civil engineering needs.
The MBI 110 is easy to operate and also very flexible. This model was radically revised in 2010 by MOOG, as the main tower and platform sections were originally built in aluminum. Now these parts are manufactured in steel for a more stable construction and a higher load capacity. The new MBI 110 addresses a wider target group of Bridge-Access Equipment users all over the world.
With a max. horizontal range of 42’7” under the bridge and a max. over-bridging of sidewalks of 10’9”, this unit is uniquely constructed for city bridges.
The load capacity of 1100 lbs on a 3’11” wide platform enables inspection as well as repair work under bridges. The unit is useable 24 hours a day as it is equipped with night-lights powered by the on board generator. Additional equipment is a portable scaffold, which can be used on the complete length of the platform.
As with all truck mounted MOOG units, this unit has an additional truck axle that is lowered by use of an air suspension system to stabilize the machine while it is in operation. With this system, the concentrated load on the bridge deck is very low, which is important during high temperature months as it helps to avoid causing damage to the bridge’s asphalt surface. A self-propelled hydraulic drive system is used for slow speed movements on the bridge deck while the unit is in operation.
