MOOG delivered its 500th Under-Bridge Equipment
The 500th under-bridge unit left MOOGs’ facilities in the South of Germany and was driven to the WEICO company in Italy in February 2015.
The anniversary unit was a model MBI 110-1,2/S – one of the most commonly sold MOOG platform units.
The under-bridge unit was mounted on a MAN truck chassis and was adjusted according to the customers’ requirements as follows:
This mid-range unit has a horizontal range of 36 ft. 1 in. under the bridge, which can be increased to 42 ft. 8 in. by using the platform extension ordered with the unit. The maximum lowering depth of 23 ft. 8 in. is achieved by using the whole tower length of the unit during operation without any manual moving of cylinder pins on the telescopic cylinder. This is accomplished by the installation of a roller guide instead of a slide guide on the tower, which is normally only used on our bigger units. Also the ability to cross sidewalks of 10 ft. 10 in. was an optional item added on to this MBI 110-1,2/S unit.
The final inspection and training took place at the MOOG facility in the beginning of February 2015 and was successfully completed.
The above referenced special options on this under-bridge unit showcase how MOOG strives to meet the customers’ requirements and therefore fully satisfies its clients.
With the ever increasing high demand for under-bridge access equipment MOOG starts into its 35th year in business and proudly looks back to 500 delivered under-bridge units that are all still in operation today.
