Another MBI 70-1/S for Norway
Another MBI 70-1/S left the MOOG facilities in route to Norway the middle of October 2016, when the company Oslo Liftutleie AS received its first under-bridge access unit.
This MBI 70-1/S was also mounted on an IVECO chassis and has a maximum horizontal range under the bridge of 22 ft. 11 in. which can be extended to 26 ft. 3 in. by using the included platform extension. The platform is 3 ft. 3 in. wide and can be loaded with up to 880 lbs. The overall weight is 13,640 lbs.
This new customer also requested the special erection function (excavator erection) for the platform unit, which enables erection of the unit between e.g. catenaries in railway areas or on truss bridges. With this function the platform can be rotated 90° even before setting up the tower and can then be placed into the bridge upper structure prior to being lowered down. A scaffolding and night lighting complete the special equipment added to this machine.
