Successful installation of a fix installed MOOG unit at the Mur-Bridge in Bruck near the Mur
In November 2012 MOOG installed a permanently mounted Bridge Inspection Unit at the Mur-Bridge in the Styrian Bruck, which can be moved up to 20 m under the Bridge. MOOG designed and produced this unit according to the customers’ specifications.
One special feature of the unit is the lifting mechanism, which allows the unit to be lifted about 1.3 m into the parking position so that the unit is outside the 30-year flood line when it is not in operation. To make the unit extra easy to maintain, MOOG supplied the customer with a purely mechanical drive system where absolutely no electricity is used.
The maximum length in the parking position is limited, so MOOG had to use two overlapping telescopic platforms to be able to reach the complete bridge width of 20 m. For safe access to the complete height of the bridge structure, the unit is equipped with two gantries. The platform with a width of 1.5 m has a max. load capacity of 400 kg. The unit itself only weighs 2.2 tons.
