MOOG sends a MBL 1750 to Dubai
Dubai, the most populous city and a member in the United Arab Emirates, is rich in oil and natural gas and now is also enriched by one MOOG under-bridge unit.
In March 2015 the biggest MOOG bucket unit, a model MBL 1750 was shipped to Dubai via ocean vessel. The unit was especially chosen and produced for the Gharhoud Bridge, but will also be used at other sites throughout Dubai later on.
The MBL 1750 was mounted on a SCANIA truck chassis and can achieve a maximum lowering depth of 21.0 m and a maximum working height of 23.1 m. The operation of the unit even over wide sidewalks is possible because the under-bridge unit is equipped with a telescopic boom that reaches over a maximum of 5.2 m
The maximum horizontal range is 17.5 m under the bridge. The basket is 1.35×1.25 m and can be loaded with up to 280 kg.
The flexibility of this unit is underlined by the swivel range of the booms – 270° and/or 180°. These ranges enable the client to work in an area of 280 m² when operating the unit.
The vessel reaches the Port of Dubai mid April where the Arabic client RTA can then pick up their new bucket type unit. The training will take place in Dubai sometime later in 2015.
