MBL 1600 to Austria
To be able to do bridge inspection work within its federal province, the state of Salzburg decided to buy a MOOG under-bridge unit similar to purchases by other Austrian states in the past. The ordered bucket unit MBL 1600 finally left the MOOG Germany facilities mid-September 2016.
The MBL 1600 was mounted on a SCANIA truck chassis and has a maximum horizontal range of 16.0 m under the bridge. To enable the operation of the unit even over wide sidewalks, the under-bridge unit is equipped with a telescopic boom that reaches over a maximum of 4.8 m.
The basket is 1.35×1.25 m and can be loaded with up to 280 kg.
The advantage of a bucket unit:
It can be used as an under-bridge unit and as an aerial working platform. Thus the MBL 1600 reaches lowering depths of up to 19.6 m and working heights up to a maximum of 21.4 m.
The flexibility of this unit is underlined by the swivel range of the booms – 270° and/or 180°. These ranges enable the client to work in an area of 280 m² when operating the unit.
Handling and operating the unit is very easy because of the simple arrangement of the operating controls. Should unexpected trouble occur during operation, a quick error analysis is possible with help of the installed optional PLC-control inside the trucks’ cabin.
The training took place mid-November 2016 at the customers‘ facilities.
