MBI 50-1/SR crawler to Ireland
MOOG has another new customer seeing the advantages of its under-bridge inspection equipment: The company, PC Traffic Management Solutions Ltd. from Ireland, has ordered a MBI 50-1/SR unit mounted on a crawler chassis, which was delivered to them the end of November 2016.
This machine was especially designed to be operated on a narrow sidewalk, pedestrian bridges or sidewalks with low load capacity restrictions. Its total weight of 3 tons is equally distributed on both crawler tracks and the transport height of nearly 2.9 m allows standard transport on a common car trailer.
The MBI 50-1/SR has a horizontal range under the bridge of 5.0 m and a lowering depth of up to 4.5 m. The platform is 1.0 m wide and can be loaded with max. 300 kg (150 kg on end of platform).
Per the customer’s request the under-bridge unit was also equipped with the special erection function (excavator erection), which enables erection of the unit between e.g. catenaries in railway areas or on truss bridges. With this function the platform can be rotated 90° before setting up the tower and can then be placed into the bridge construction. A scaffolding completes the special equipment and enables access to the top.
We hope this small platform unit is a great asset in Ireland for many years!
