The Wilhelm Reitinger GmbH & CO. KG Company, which has been a customer of MOOG for decades and\u00a0 already owns\u00a0 numerous under-bridge units, has commissioned a large trailer unit\u00a0 with several additional options that was handed over to the customer at the end of March 2017.<\/p>\n
The platform unit MBI 180-1,7\/S was mounted on a fully air-suspended 3-axle chassis, where one axle is steerable.\u00a0 2 additional support axles provide the required stability in operation. The machine has a horizontal range of up to 59 ft. under the bridge as standard, but this can be increased up to 68 ft. 10 in. by using the additionally supplied platform extensions (3 ft. 3 in. \/ 6 ft. 6 in.). The platform has a width of 5 ft. 7 in. and can be loaded simultaneously with up to 6 people plus 704 lbs. of material (max. 1,760 lbs.).<\/p>\n
The extensive additional equipment is the special feature of this under-bridge unit:<\/p>\n
The machine was additionally equipped with an\u00a0elevating and lifting frame<\/strong>, which can lift the entire upper structure flexibly and giving it the ability to cross – sound barriers of up to 17 ft. 8 in.<\/p>\n The additionally supplied\u00a0radio remote control<\/strong>\u00a0allows a better overview of the work area, especially in those hard-to-see places, and ensures the required freedom of movement only wireless control of the machine can provide.<\/p>\n In addition to the radio remote control, the platform unit has been equipped with an\u00a0automatic steering system<\/strong>, which allows the unit to be operated by only one person from the work platform. The trailer is secured in place by an ultrasound, light barriers and an additional camera system.\u00a0 Independently guided by means of sensing arms that guide along the bridge (e.g. crash barriers), which transmit the corresponding movements to the steering system.<\/p>\n With the help of the\u00a0hydraulic loading crane<\/strong>\u00a0installed on the chassis, any required material or additional equipment needed can be lifted comfortably from the bridge deck down onto the platform.\u00a0 This crane can also be operated with a radio remote control.<\/p>\n The\u00a0hydraulic alplift<\/strong>\u00a0with a standing height of 19 ft. 8 in., the two supplied\u00a0scaffoldings<\/strong>, the\u00a0LED night lights<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0wind warning device<\/strong>\u00a0installed on the tower complete the equipment package for this under-bridge unit.<\/p>\n However, the customer can not only use the additional equipment supplied with this unit, but even the pier inspection platform of his existing machine.
