MBI 200-1,5\/S to Turkey<\/h2>\n

MOOG has once again won a bid against its competitors and received an order for an under-bridge unit model MBI 200-1,5\/S for the new Izmit Bay suspension bridge which is part of the new Gebze-Izmir motorway in western Turkey. This bridge is 3.3 km long and therefore one of the longest suspension bridges in the world.\u00a0 It connects the north and south coast of Izmit Bay.<\/p>\n

The platform unit MBI 200-1,5\/S was ordered as a trailer mounted version including a VOLVO tractor and was manufactured by MOOG according to the customer\u2019s requirements.
\nThe horizontal range under the bridge is up to 20.0 m and the platform is 1.5 m wide, which are both standard for this unit. The platform can be loaded with up to 6 people plus 320 kg of materials\/tools at the same time (max. 800 kg).<\/p>\n

What is special about this under-bridge unit is the additional equipment:
\nThe machine was also equipped with a telescopic rotation frame which allows a wider over-bridging of sidewalks. Moreover, the lifting frame was increased to enable a wider lowering depth of 11.9 m instead of the standard 8.7 m. With help of a hydraulic lift a working height of up to 8.0 m is possible which enables a more flexible work area on the platform. Furthermore a pier inspection unit was also delivered which can be lowered down the piers a maximum of 45.0 m.<\/p>\n
