{"id":6062,"date":"2011-07-15T08:17:15","date_gmt":"2011-07-15T06:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moog-online.com\/uncategorized\/mbi-70-fuer-kaimauer\/"},"modified":"2019-03-14T15:14:59","modified_gmt":"2019-03-14T14:14:59","slug":"mbi-70-for-quay-walls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moog-online.com\/en\/uncategorized\/mbi-70-for-quay-walls\/","title":{"rendered":"MBI 70 for quay walls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>New Type of machine for accessing quay walls in Port Areas<\/h2>\n<p>Based on an enquiry from the Port of Montreal, MOOG designed a special access work platform based on\u00a0MOOG&#8217;s \u00a0trailer mounted Under-Bridge unit MBI 70 to\u00a0meet the needs of this customer. The customer wanted a minimum 6 m long platform to work on the face of the piers (concrete, ladders and fenders).<\/p>\n<p>A telescopic cylinder enables them to lower the platform as far down as 8 m below the piers upper level giving them access to\u00a0all areas.\u00a0They also wanted\u00a0the machine\u00a0to be able to move forward and backward including a steering function\u00a0during operation which excluded the use of a conventional downward working aerial platform. The design was discussed with the customer in detail before manufacturing the unit and the result was a 4.4 to lightweight trailer with an upper structure mainly manufactured out of high-strength aluminum. An on-board generator\u00a0powers the machine\u2019s hydraulic system as well as the\u00a0electrical sockets down on the platform. The platform length can be increased up to 6.4 m by installing two telescopic platforms. With a payload of 400 kg up to 4 people can work at the same time.
